I'm always buying music, mostly (surprise!) Hawaiian music right now. This is the latest acquisition: Makaha Sons of Ni'Ihau, "live" at Hank's Place. I guess it is a "discontinued" cd, having been released over 25 years ago. Mele.com gave heads-up on facebook that this was their last copy. Of course I love anything with IZ, but I really enjoy the Makaha Sons, too. This older release has almost a "loungey" feel, which is dreamy. One thing that I appreciate about this issue is that they included the Hawaiian and English lyrics in the booklet. My favorite song: a 7:19 minute version of Hawai'i '78.
